San Diego Fishing Spots?

Hey guys, I am heading down to San Diego this weekend (9-10th) and have a free day an Saturday to get in some time on the water. I don't know where to head to and hope to get some help. I don't want to paddle out too far as I may be taking along a newbie. We should be in the mission beach La Jolla area. Specific launch locations would be very helpful. Thanks Guys.

Get a fishing map. I like The Fish-n-Map Co. map. Launch at La Jolla Shores. Head out past the reserve and make some bait. Many people make bait at the pier, I've never needed to. Paddle the outside edge of the kelp forest and along the canyon relief trolling a live bait. Mix up the trolling weight. Stop here and there to yo-yo-iron along the canyon structure. Watch for current lines, surface activity and floatsum.
Whack `em.
