Just because I think my last post seems to have killed this forum, I am posting a report.

Great day on the water!  I followed the guys who unlock the gate into the Westwards lot, making sure of being the first one on the water.  I am sure the rockfish appreciate the effort.  The launch was totally dry, I really love to see that early morning high tide.

The fishing was good right from the start with a few good size rosys and a red to get things going.  Finally got a good slam and eventually brought up a 26" ling accompanied by a 12" rosy on the bottom hook.  Felt like bringing up a super mini man hole cover, that one drop fed 5 of us for Sunday night dinner.

Off the water with a limit of 10 fish, and loaded up by 10:30.  Saw a bunch of other yaks on the water, anyone else out there???

Unless it's your secret spot could you tell me how to get to the Westward gate and what time it's open.  Like to give it a try someday! Shocked

Its MINE!  All MINE!!!!!  LOL.

Westwards is the beach park on the very south end of Zuma Beach.  Do a search for Westwards Beach Road in the city of Malibu and you will find it.  Gate opens around sunrise.  Fee is 2 bucks if you get there before the person arrives to collect (and before 9 AM.)

Let me know if you are going, I have been fishing there on Sundays.
