A couple of newbies and a couple of rookies.  Hardly any experience with this crowd.
Some had no idea how to dress.  The water temp was somewhere in the low 50's.
They wore sunglasses during the launch, kept the paddle lease strapped to the kayak upon landing,
didn't store their rods and reels, and had no idea how to handle a 6in wave. On and on it goes.

You can tell they are completely new at this.
2 Hobie Outbacks
1 OK Drifter
1 T120
Malibu X-factor

3 or those kayaks weight a ton.  But that is okay, wide stable kayak for the beginner is what I started on.
Over time they will learn about the weight issue.  Not all launches has an easy accessible area.

We did have a good time and they learned quite a bit.
Fishing sucked.  Very little bait around.

Of course when it comes to my time to launch........

Early in the morning the air and water was cold

Dan catches his first kayak fish in Southern Cal.
I think others did as well.

I dart towards shore, and before I can grab my camera, Jeph wipes out.
Sorry everyone, I missed it.  Mitch almost wiped, then he almost hit the rock.

The tally for the day was 2 wipe outs.  An earlier group went in hours before us, probably because they
were cold.

Fun day for all of us.  We plan to do a group fishing expo later.

LOL.  Great pics, I love the one with the gear yard sale foreground and the other guy doing the 'paddle wave'.
