I wish there was an easier place to launch.  Sometimes, like today, CL just gets hairy.
Past couple of days, or week,  we have had major winds blowing through.  At least 2 days were Gale force.
That really affected the bite today.  Cold water and slow.

Fished at 1250 ft and caught 12 Bronzespotted rockfish.  mmmmm they tasted good.

How deep did you go Pete?
Early on, I had concerns about casually promoting county line due to the fact that it's a very dangerous launch and more often than not, undoable.

Looking at the new Ocean Sport Fishing Regulations, they have added a fourth Rockfish to the list of no take.
What is interesting and mind-boggling is the experienced fishermen I know, never even heard of Bronzespotted.
They had to look it up in a book.  Even Joel, who is the GroundFish expert had no idea what the fourth on was.
What really bothers me, is how did the DFG even come up with the "science" to put this one on the no take list?
Shoddy science if you ask me.

I am taking a newbie to Leo tomorrow.  Maybe I will post some pics of his wipe outs for entertainment.
If the fishing is anything like today, the launch and land will be the only excitement.

That's some serious winding, like 20 miles worth round trip! Hopfully you were able to revive them back to the depths.

Yep, we got shut-out by the wind up at Refugio. Couldn't really change our camping dates. The weather never seems to cooperate during spring break.
