Hey Anacapa Bob,appreciate the heads up on the scoots! Was not able to make it Sat.Went out this morning,to my dismay there was a stiff 10-12 onshore and the water had a slop chop to it that was not to inviting, also a high frequency shore pound although not so big, they were crunchy and relentless.Stood kneedeep and waited a good 15 minutes, finally a lull and i scrambled out dry....paddled a long time until I finally found'em got 4, kept one monster just a tad under 40" released the rest.got slimed on fathers day!

Way to go Naf! What kind of rapala were you using? The only rapala that is working for me this season is the small, split bodied black and white one. They havn't touched anything else yet.
I am bringing a flyrod next time and will troll a clouser minnow or lefty's deceiver.
I think it would be fun to have a cuda tournament there one day this summer. Everyone throws in $10 and it is on. How about calling it "Cudapalloza!"
It would probably only be you and me as no one seems to be interested in devil sticks!

Other pole half the time was magnum rapala blue mackeral the rest blue chrome croc por nada!It was a little rough pulling uphill towards carp all fish came when I headed back with the flow.Pool or not I'm game, when weather,a day off and the lady alows....but then again 2 outa 3 will work!

We got skunked too on Saturday there. The water was clear and we were followed by a Minke whale most the morning which was kinda neat for the first hour.
I did however see a solid school of big cuda with my own human eyes a mile off the island in 105'. They are there and I will hit it again the weekend after next.
I will drop you a line next time. The big moon might have been a factor along with little or no current. Ironicly, I havn't caught one after the 4th of July in years.
Time to put that tridition to rest especially after seeing them Saturday on the surface. T/L.
