Most know by now that I have a sickness for the baracuda.  Some guys gamble, some golf, some go to see "sex in the city " with their girlfriends, but I hunt cuda.  I caught the fever years ago along with dove hunting and never stopped.
I live for Sept 1st.  when I put a shotgun in the gun racks and I live for Memorial day when the sweet, toothey devil sticks arrive in Northern Ventura.  I polish and sharpen my rapalas, yozuris and chrome and I do a dailey 60 up and downs on the perfect push up to get in shape for the marathon paddle into the killing fields.
To make this short, they have arrived.
Join me in the carnage if you have game.  Understand that this is a two mile paddle out and lots of zig zagging while tolling.
Looking to fish Friday and Sunday.

A-bob,

I've noticed lots of pelicans crashing on bait all the way from Surfer's Point to Padero Lane every day now for at least a week  during my morning and evening Summerland to Hueneme commute.   You may not have to paddle out the whole two miles.  Good luck.

Thanks for the invite Bob.

I'm 90% sure I'll join on Sat.  Let me see about Friday, with work and all.

Thanks for the visual slime update Wolfman!  I love fishing Summerland and might hit it Saturday inbetween the NCZ run (Northern Cuda Zone) at Arco.  I just can't pull away from a spot where I saw so many free swimming fish yet.   Shocked
Hit that zone and please rpt.

Bob do you bleed those fish as soon as you catch them? I was told that is how you get the cuda to taste good. I have never eaten cuda and was told it isn't really good to eat. But If I could catch a 1970 plymouth Hemi cuda I'd be there no matter what, even whitie him self couldn't keep me away. Do u own a plymouth cuda since u are so sick with the cuda fever.

I should really be driving a "plymouth" with racks since I have the fever so bad!
I dont bleed my cuda anymore after all the sharky element in the news.  I simply keep them on a dive ring under my legs with a wet gunny sack over them.  Once on the beach, I fillet them carefully removing all of the red parts on the outter fillet.  From there they are deep fried after being dipped in an egg, mickeys malt liqour, salt and pepper batter then pressed in the bread crubs of your choice.  I like to smash up Ritz crackers and roll the McNugget size pieces in it.
Mixing up mayo and horseradish makes a wonderful dip.

A few of us will be outside of Arco Island tomorrow, Sunday the 15th.  Exit Sea Cliff and go under the FWY and park at the end.
The water warmed a bit and I hope to find them at the same place.
