I fished the heck out of Leo from the rocks up to CL then out to deep hole. I was using squid and live anchovies (met a really nice private boater who filled my bait bucket with them) most of the time I finally made one 6" mac and drifted him back to Leo. No love at all! I've had so muck skunk on me lately that I can't even stand myself.

The surf was 2-3' with short periods and had me a little concerned, I've spent most of the Winter in lakes, so I felt a little rusty. Made it out just getting a little wet, not too bad. But coming back in. . . . I could see the waves breaking from deep hole and the surfer having a ball. . . . I knew I was in for a tough recovery. Sat outside the breakers for a long time just waiting and watching, I felt a little better because there was a Lifeguard truck just waiting and watching me. I finally grabbed a lull and almost made to shore but a wave caught up to me, an extremely lucky surfing ride all the way to shore. I was one very relieved old man. A very strange day, overcast and cool most of the morning, pretty good breeze out of the south, fairly rough seas, no fish, but one hell of a beautiful day spent with Mother Nature!

That was you huh.  Cheesy

We were the other 2 kayaks south of Leo.  Even though I managed to break a possible skunk, fishing was hard.
The wind, chop, and cold temps, made fishing not so good.  Regardless, we had fun.

I watched you guys launch and then decided not to do the steps, I used to do that solo but it got old real fast, so I paid the parking fee and braved the surf. Glad to hear you had some kind of success.
