The Pacific Adventure out of LA Harbor Sportfishing is planning on running mothership trips out to Catalina for kayakers and float tubers every other Wednesday starting June 11th. Cost is only $65 with lunch included trips departing 6am returning 5pm with 2 moves on the frontside of the island.
Cost being the thing for most people, $65 is a great price for people to try a mothership. Sure beats the cost of an overnighter to the islands. I just reserved my spot on the first trip and hope they do well with this.

A great price is right!  A load of bait?  How many kayaks?  If this boat is running kayaks instead of passenger loads of anglers during WSB season...the skipper's a genius and I hope it pays off.  Whack em Mugu!

Grant& I have sone the mother ships with the Q 105 and they were a blast. This would be a fun trip too.

We are also interesated in doing a camping (overnight) trip to the Channel Islands if anyone is interested. Let us know.

After reading the great WSB reports going on at Catalina right now, I think I should dust off my PFD, radio, and all the other stuff I usually don't bring and get on it. I reserved with the landing and only ten confirmed right now. This could be a great trip if the weather cooperates and we can talk the skipper into fishing the back side of the island. See you there...

Jason, I think that Island packers is about the only option for the Channel Islands right now.

I also spoke to another froup at the Fred Hall show who were considering setting something up for the Channe Islands, but it was still in the conceptual phase I would say so nothing for sure. Only problem I can see with the Channel Islands is making sure you are not in one of the restricted zones.
