Sorry 'bout that. Pt Dume fishin the canyon.
End of Westward Beach Road. Westward is before the Zuma entrance if headed north, just after if headed south.

Twelve intrepid anglers braved absolutely perfect glassy, calm, sunny conditions to hit the rockfish hard on Sunday. An assortment of Reds, Coppers, Bocaccico, Chuckleheads, and Dabs ended up in everybodys boats. No skunks. Gotta love it. It was like a lake so no flips on launchs or landings. Too bad the wind came up around 11:30 and blew us off the water. Baywatch showed up to make sure we all made it back and didn't end up blown to Palos Verdes.
AnacapaBob even free gaffed a legal halibut swimming around on the surface, go figure. I took the JP with a 4 lb. Bocock. Whoopeeee...
Great time fishing with the Usual Suspects. You know who you are even if I can"t remember.
Thats my report and I'm sticking to it. Sorry no pictures, I was much too busy fishing...
Till next time...

Nice win Scott.
Good to see everyone, even though I did not stay on the water past 10.

Fun time, lets do it again.

what a fun day...
I always like fishin' the Dume...
great weather and always good to put some faces
to the names and make some new friends...
we had a good turn out today...
Mugu, Dennis (the OTHER Dennis), Toad Patrol,
yaksailor and son, Potto,
(hey what happenned to potto at the end?),
Anacapabob, Bing, Radastaff, yakking 101, Garety, and me....

fishing was pretty good, lots of good taco meat all around...
small surf and no wind...what a day...the wind kicked us off the water by 11:30 or so...the life guards got worried about Rada...
but he was fine...just a little wind...but, it sure is
good to know they're lookin' out for us....

Toad Patrol was the JP winner with his 4 lb salmon grouper...
(sounds so much better than bocaccio)

the boys on the beach...man...those waders make me look fat....
and Dane's big chucklhead makes our fish look small...

Yakking 101 bendo on a big 'un...

Yakking 101 and Garety enjoying the conditions...
note the monster in the net...the result of the bendo...

and the monster fish of the day award goes to....
Yakking 101
with his 5.25lb chucklehead...what a beauty...

and he got a really nice red, too....

only bummer was he did not get into the JP or he woulda crushed that bocock....

good times out there today...
good fishin' with you guys...
congrats to Toad on the JP win...
and Dane!!!! DUDE!!! that is one fat copper!!!!!
can't wait till the next go'round...

OH...and Pt Dume is a much better drive than La Jolla...

taco time!!!!

Fresh fish out of cold water... skip the tacos. Take that red and ceviche it up. Then take that chucklehead and thin-slice some sashimi with wasabi, ginger and soy!

By the way, I hate it when free swimming halibut swim into my gaff...
