Hooked up with "Kayak Jack" and launched at Nick's Cove.  Glassy surface and no wind for hours.  No fish either.  2 bites on frozen chovie.  We're just figuring out the bottom and getting comfortable with the tides.  Halibut to follow...

isn't that where that diver "otto"(name?) was attacked twice in his career...once in the 80s...then 90s???

i don't think i'd have the nerve...even with a shotgun shell or co2 bang stick... Undecided Undecided Undecided

I don't know about Otto but it's really a non factor with a big kayak angler population up here.  Early in my career I spoke to a guy in Florida who claimed to be the original Bang Stick creator.  He said it's a dangerous device and advised against using them.

Hey Spike,

 My (now old) college roommate does his ocean swimming up there prepping for channel swims (English & SB).  His name is Chris Blakeslee and he goes by the nickname "El Sharko" , loves ocean swimming up there and has quite a swim club following. They have pictures of him swimming with orca fins VERY near - he says he never worries Roll Eyes.   If you run into him, say hi from me.
