Heading down next week. Was hoping to get out for a day or two. Anyone have any advice? Were staying in/near the Ventura Harbor

Thanks

Good place to hoop....inside Ventura harbor breakwalls....just look for the other hoopers after dark.  Also, can hoop at Channel Islands harbor, but have to venture on the outside...a little tougher.

As for fishing-- I'll let someone else chime in-- I haven't fished it.

This Cabazon was caught on squid right up against the outside of the seawall of Channel Islands Marina. Small swells really help to get in close, but it is seldom like that. Halibut and other critters are routinely caught inside the harbor, but not by me. Launch at Kiddy Beach next to the USCG office at the end of Victoria Blvd.

Ventura Harbor has a beach just inside the harbor that is a real easy launch. Go out to the CI National Park Headquarters and the beach is on your left. I've tried several times but no love for me there. Again I've heard good stories about the area right off of the beach just past the marker floats.

Leo is only about 20 minutes south on Hwy 1. My personal favorite.

Good luck,
Dennis
