VERY cool of you to do that.

I will ask around to find the owner.

Found it while walking the dogs Sunday at about 0700.  Got back to it with my dollies just as the tide was coming in.  Had to drag it 1/2 a mile into the gritty wind & up the hill at Finney Beach to my car.   It was a lot lighter after I scooped the sand out of it.  Was glad to hear no reports of a missing kayaker!

Just curious? You said you drained it and scooped the sand out! Was it a sit inside? I didn't lose a yak, I just wndered about hatches etc. Matbe the surf pounded sand and water in! Piranha  Huh Wink

It's a sit-on-top.  The forward hatch was open and it filled up with sand & water   One week on Craigslist lost-and-found  and this site, but not even one inquiry. I suspect it was tied up to a boat at anchor because there was sea-growth on the bottom.

When I was in a shop years ago, a guy placed his garage sale purchased kayak out front for sale.  Another customer saw it and claimed it.  He had lost it a few months earlier.  He had been tossed in the surfzone and watched the boat blown offshore.  Found at sea, it was sold at a garage sale in Castaic.  To their credit, the 2 individuals handled it like gentlemen and exchanged fair value.  It helped that the second sale was for $50.  Cobra Explorer I think.

Wolfman, enjoy your new boat, I hope it has some life left.

I'd really like to see this yak reunited with its owner.    I'll hold out until after Thanksgiving.  There are more than enough boats here already.

Well if you can't find the owner you tried very hard. you might consider selling it and donate the money to a cause. Just a thought.
