Setting up a new specialty trip, it occured to me that I have no idea what to do with a hundred plus pound tuna anywhere close to the kayak.  What if someone can get a 200 pounder "to gaff" Huh??

In the course of figuring it out, I found a very fishy machinist in North Carolina who has done some work for kayak fishermen and is eager to specialize to the sport.

I'm going with the flying gaff/harpoon combo with a few extra riggings.  Based on what I've seen, starting at $35, these are great prices for quality gaffs from a U.S. shop.  Aluminum, stainless steel and hardwood products.  Very well made.

Spike thanks for the introduction, and the good words . We will custom make anything if you can imagine it we will make it .

We recently finished a project  working with marine biologists in Texas and Florida designing a hand gaff with spring loaded latch that allows the fish to  swim along side of the boat or be transfered from boat to boat for scientific purposes and then be safely released.

We are a company that is trying to not only make money but make a difference also.
