Off topic becasue we could not find a mother ship so we had to fish from the boat...

Had 47 tuna for for 17 guys and you will be happy to know that the yak fishing skills paid off for Grant & I. We were responsible for 11 of the tuna. Grant nailed 2 Bluefin, 1 Albie, and 3 YellowFin, while I ended up with 5 Yellowfin.

The keys were light line (20#) with Flouro leaders, picking a good bait, and being able to cast. All no brainers for the yak crowd. As we were riding in we were both thinking the only thing that could have been more fun would have been to do it from the yak. sure hope the mother ship opportunities start to expand to a regular schedule.

You guys are fishy!  I'm trying to sell the Labor Day dates that still look good for tuna.  Otherwise Jeff, we have the whole next season on the Black Pearl for kayak fishers ONLY.
More infor at the Trips Page of the main site.
Quite a trifecta for Grant too!  Congrats!

Way to go Jeff and Grant!  What a team!  Can't wait until my daughters are up (old enough) for some serious big game fishing!  Some great memories there for you guys....don't ever forget!

Tuna are on my 'never caught' list....so hoping to scratch that off within the next couple years.  That along with billfish, wsb, dorado, roosters....crap...the list is so long....so many fish-- so little time!   Cheesy
And nowadays-- it almost doesn't feel like fishing to me unless I'm in my yak.
