We are on vacation and heading north. somewhere between Bodega bay and Albion there was a barn on the beach side that looked like a kayak convention. It was some kind of a special event pulling a 5th wheel makes it hard to check things out. I;m wondering since it was Oct 1 st if there was a special event going on. I thought I saw a sign but couldn't read it in time. Looked to be 50 yaks. And if they were fishing and there was a pot It would be one hell of a pot. By the way I had to leave the yak at home. now regret leaving it as I knew i would.

You passed right by me Sea Weed.  That was the 2011 Red Barn Classic kayak fishing tournament.  I showed up around 1 PM to watch the fish come in and see some friends.  The Barn was painted white a few years back.
Weak fishing for about 58 entrants (double from last year) still produced some limits, a 20# salmon and a 36.5" lingcod.  Some of the best food ever!  Kayak Jack had the fish taco stand going, Korean short ribs (white guy), Asian spring rolls (authentic), BBQ oysters, a whole lot more and a desert bar like a bakery counter.  Jonesy grilled a slab of fresh steelhead from the Smith river and Al whipped up an AWESOME white sea bass ceviche that disapeared fast.  All in all, a great weekend of kayak fishing community.

I sure miss my yak at the moment. going up to idhao and back buy wife didn't want me to load it on top of 5th wheel this time. as it can be a pain to get up and down.
