No reports from Bodega Bay.  Up the line, Crescent City harbor is getting hammered.  Santa Cruz is all over the news.  I wonder about little spots like Ocean Cove and Albion.

Jenner, at the mouth of the Russian River, and Goat Rock Beach and Blind Beach have (and are AFAIK) experiencing unusual surge and wave action.  Almost like watching a high-tide / low-tide cycle occur in a span of 20 minutes.  The Jenner estuary is also exhibiting unusual tidal influence.  Rangers are stationed at both of these beaches and are preventing any foot traffic from accessing the beach area.  That said, I didn't see any water over the "jetty" on the south side of the mouth this morning.  The harbor seals were at the river mouth happily sunning themselves as usual.

As far as recent fishing activity, ran into a fellow with waders fishing on Blind Beach using sand fleas to (successfully I might add) catch red-tail perch.

Regards,

Goat Rock Hal

Thanks for that Hal.  I've completely ignored surf fishing this season.  Time to hit the beach.
I lost 2 crab pots at the mouth of Bodega Harbor and the county launch dock was thrashed.  That's the only damage I heard of here.
