Sorry all, I'm on the road and first got this news a week ago.

Kayak fishing pioneer Scott "Toad Patrol" Winner sufferred a massive stroke at home last Sunday.  Daughter Daisy arrived from college yesterday and has seen her dad.  Son Jack has been at his side.  Ex-wife Amy came in to help until Daisy could get home and called me again this am.  Scott's prognosis is poor.  There is a big meeting of doctors and family Monday, we'll get more info then.  Amy asked me to come see Scott upon my return ASAP in the hospital and encouraged me to have his friends do the same.  It's a tough visit for all and may be a goodbye, Scott is on a ventilator and mostly unresponsive.
Scott's a tough guy but the damage is severe, we'll know more tomorrow.
He's at Santa Monica-UCLA hospital.
Hoping for the best, I'm told we should prepare as best as we can for the worst.  Either way, we'll start fundraising for the Winners when the time comes, they are going to need some help.
I'll be back in Nor Cal later this week and can be reached in the meantime at 818-970-2392 (I'm 3 hours ahead of PST).
Keep those prayers and good wishes flowing.
Michelle and I send our best to you all.
A year ago, EFish and I triaged Scott on the beach after he passed out,,,without apparent cause.  Sorry to break it here cuz, I'll be in touch.

Scott passed Wednesday.  I was able to honor him on www.Kayakfishingradio.com last night.  A memorial will be held in a few weeks.  I'll detail one here soon.
Condolances to all!  I miss him already.
