I am from ocean city maryland and certain times of the year there are lots of large red drum and lots of large striped bass being caught from the beach's but sometimes they are just out of casting range from the beach i was wondering what would be a good kayak that already has rod holers on it, that i could purchase and take out, i would probably just drop a bait or two like live bait and just troll up and down the beach line just out of casting distance hoping for whatever is out there to hit what would be a good kayak for this type of fishing?

This site has been very slow lately. But i think the best way to ask is like what do you expect to pay. There are many good kayaks out there. But what works best for you may not be of someone else's Liking. Many places will let you try them out before you buy, There are many things to consider besides the rod holders. Like size and weight you might like a lighter one than others have and like. I hope this advice is good. I own a prowler 15 it is a little big but the price was right for me. I put my own rod holders in it and they work fine.

thank you it did help im looking to spend up to $700 maybe 800 if its worth it. yea i can put my own rod holders on it anyways but a couple extra already built in would be a plus and i don't think weight will matter very much as the river id be loading and unloading in is right down my street. and goes all the way to the bay and ocean.

Welcome to the site!
I second the recommendation to look on Craigslist. I bought my slightly used Tarpon 120 for $ 500 and it came with lots of addl. equipment.
You need to take into consideration your size and weight and the primary use of the yak. A wider yak is better for big guys and will give you more stability, but it won't paddle as fast. A longer yak, generally tracks straighter, but it's heavier and can be a pain in the ass to handle.
Also, the suggestion to try different yaks before buying is spot on. Look for yak rental places nearby and paddle different models. Let us know what you decided to get and post some reports.
