There is a lot of wind but there are fish too.  Yellowtail and wsb in so cal....... the rockfish season is in full swing going north.  Any halibut or threshers landed?  2010 is a very cold year compared to most and instead of long hot days where the wind comes in at 11am-2pm, the windows of opportunity have been shorter due to seemingly relentless wind and earlier Pacific storms that kept the swell up and limited the access.

Work has kept me more on-the-road and less on-the-water but the few times I've been out lately, there haven't been the flock of kayak fishers I'm used to seeing at the regular spots.  I gotta believe that all the State Park closures and negative press impact people's wills to make the effort of driving.  I've always liked seeing lots of kayaks fishing when I'm out.

The only spots I can find (SeaRanch) without a big swell have hard wind blowing steady day and night.  Looking at Saturday for somewhere on the Sonoma coast.  I may take a dunk in Tomales bay in the meantime...looking for that flatty.  The SD sb REPORTS ARE SICK RIGHT NOW.
