Here In SLO county the wind has been so bad I think I could be blown to Santa Cruz Island in a few hours. SUCKS. I guess that is why no one is posting here. NO FISHING

Seasons like this reinforce my belief in the natural cycle of things.  Since I've been paying attention to historical data, about 20 years, the relentless nearshore breeze seems more like "normal" Spring conditions.  The Cental/North coast has been the same with only a few doable hours some days.  Luckily, the weather seems to be rolling into summer. The white sea bass and yellowtail have been consistantly spotty around La Jolla.  The salmon are stilll very deep and spotty here.
Our patience will pay off with strong fishing through the Fall...for all species.  That's my prediction and I'm sticking to it.

It was the same blustery weather here in Santa Barbara, but this weekend was perfect except for the water temps - still too cold.  Pelicans, sea lions, dolphins, and gulls have been feasting between the kelp and the surf line.  I'm told that in Ventura the peliicans stop feeding at about 4 pm and just sit on the beach with full bellies instead of crashing bait.  Last night I saw bait fish going airborne while I walking the dogs.  It's going to go off as soon the water temp hits 59 or so -  soon I hope.
