in the cold, wet fog...I love crabbing!  Launched at Doran Beach before noon, at the mouth of Bodega harbor for a limit of dungeness and 2 limits of rock crabs ($17 per pound for the claws in stores). 

Sauteed onion, carrot and celery, let cool, add one egg + a ton of crab meat and just enough panko to hold the patties together and sautee in coconut oil.  I retained one baby spider crab and made "3 crab" cakes.  I'll never order crab cakes in a restaraunt again!

If it wasn't for the kayaks, fishing would be absent, beyond the last few private boaters, in a lot of places this time of year.
