First time the editors ever said, "I need it by morning". It was like the Daily Planet around here Tuesday night. Steelhead try tomorrow on the Russian.

and BodegaBaySportfishing.com are running squid trips through February.

Sweet photo spread - I enjoyed it a lot. One question: are these not Humboldt squid, but something different? I'd like to hear more.

Thanks. My understanding is that these are the Humboldt squid also called 'jumbo" squid. The same squirts that run up the sea of cortez. The "giant" squid are their 60 foot long relatives. Doug Olander did a feature on Humboldt Squid in Sport Fishing mag last year.
