Rockfish ends Saturday up here on the Sonoma Coast.  We have a hopeful weather window this Friday, the only day.  Abalone season goes longer, until November 31st, but local fishing possibilities will turn to stripers and sturgeon in the SF Bay system and steelhead in the rivers.

Kokatat, a company in Arcata CA, took an ad here (to be published soon) and sent a few pieces including the Tempest Pant w/booties.  This is dry gear (wear) for kayaks and will extend my season well into the cold sessions.  A few times out, the difference between wet and dry is amazing.  These dry suits, pants and tops are not designed for diving, just paddling in all conditions.  I'm going to need it up here.  And plenty of fleece under layers too.

Long overdue, I'm hoping to score a few halibut during the winter months in Malibu.  That bite doesn't show every year but some of our bigger fish have come in Dec-March at Leo, "Depot" and Dume Canyon.  How much of that will left with MLPA?
