From Snorkeling last Sunday, it looks like the bass population is higher than it has been for the last couple of years.  To be honest, this is a place that can usually be fished better from shore than from a kayak, unless you really need to paddle.  I didn't feel like spending any money, so I fished with small red worms from my compost pile, and pulled in four medium sized spotted bass.  I lost a couple because they are learning to jump and throw the hook.  If I want to do some more serious fishing, I should use crawdad imitations or plastic worms for slightly bigger fish.  Fishing for bass in this lake is not rocket science.  6 to 10 feet, close to stumps is where they are.
