I got this Post from another site and thought I would paste it here. This might help us all if we Email the Govenor.

Friends: We have one strong supporting voice on the F&G Commission. Commissioner Richards is asking that the MLPA process be put on hold because of budget problems. Here is a letter by Vern Goehring worth considering:

Thank Commissioner Richards

As you know Fish & Game Commissioner Dan Richards is standing up for smart government (even though you thought that was a conflict in terms).

If you feel he is standing up for fishing, you would be wrong. It doesn’t take a fishing supporter to see that obligating the Department of Fish & Game and future Legislatures to huge unfunded costs by initiating new programs is simply wrong. And this "wrong" is magnified by the Administration acting like its not happening while it moves to cut health care for children and elderly citizens and close State parks.

The Governor says we need to learn to live within our means, but does he mean it? Multiple estimates, including one from the Department itself, say managing MPAs in the future will cost in excess of $35 million annually. Again it doesn’t take a fishing supporter to know that money like that won’t be available anytime soon.

So you see Commissioner Richards is standing up for smart government when he asks for a measured approach to adopting MPAs in balance with available funding.

We need to make sure the Governor knows we respect and agree with Commissioner Richards. Please send an email to the Governor, he won’t read it but his staff will count it. You can send an email from his website: http://gov.ca.gov/interact#email

Enter your name and select "Other" as the subject, to minimize the chance your message will simply be redirected to another office.

Tell the Governor you respect and commend Fish & Game Commissioner Dan Richards for standing up for smart government and working to avoid unfunded mandates on CA citizens and the Department of Fish & Game.

DO IT TODAY!

PS, please spread this far and wide. We needs 1,000s of emails to the Governor.
