Hi all-
I am new to the forum and fairly new to the sport.  I have been kayak fishing less than 6-months, at least  this time around (used to fish in a sit inside when I was a teenager, 20 years ago, wasn't quite the same back then, all I was doing was sitting perfectly still while dropping squid with a 2-ounce weight).

I love to fish in Malibu, so I am sure I will come across many of you out there.  If you see me in a gray X-Factor and a green floppy hat please feel free to paddle up to me and give me advice.  Trust me, most of the time I am lost.  Ask Alex, I met him last Saturday at Escondito and he was a huge help just by talking to me about little things, like how to successfully drift bait and where to fish around the beds (trust me I am that clueless).

BTW - As I was coming in late Saturday afternoon I saw someone leaving Escondito with the most beautiful halibut, looked like it might have been Rhino or Dennis.  Whoever it was, congrats, that was one nice fish!!!

I am going to be on the road for the next few weeks fishing in Jalama and Big Sur/Carmel/Monterey.  I will let you know if I find any cherry patches and will provide GPS coordinates.

Thanks in advance for any advice and I will see you in the water.  Until then!

Hope the wind dies down for you. I was blown off port San Luis on Sunday. Dragged my anchor all over the place. Wind is to drop off possible on Wednesday.

Bummer! Same thing happened last time I was there over Spring Break.  I am there until Friday, so maybe I can get a couple of nice days.

Take care!
