I have a drifter and have a couple issues.  I have had a hip replacement and neck surgery (2 rods, 2 clamps and 22 screws)  I'm 62 years old, 6'2"  320 pounds. I am having trouble entering and exiting the kayak.  I've tried sitting on the side and swinging myself in, lots of water comes in.  When I try to exit I can't stand up.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 2nd issue is a need a big sealt with a lot of padding (hip replacement) and one that will allow me to sit uo straight, not leaning backwards.

Thanks for all of your help.

One thing you'll notice about the advice here is that it is good.  Nobody swearing by any one brand or model, we tend to put you in the right model.
I demoed an early Driftyer and in my opinion...While the Drifter has a cockpit big enough to hold you (not necessarily a good thing), the rest of the boat obviously won't.  Put that thing on Craigslist and start demoing a few.  If I seem blunt, I apologize, this is kindof a general rcomendation for big anglers and a statement on our ever evolving referrals.
Get a set of Wheels, I like the C-Tug cart best.  Lifetime warranty and universal.
Few models will work for you.  Consider the
NuCanoe-A newer referral (advertisor) and nearly 4 feet wide, this boat has fast earned credability in the open ocean with smaller guys than you.  Designed by Tim Niemier (OK founder) this is a worthy boat to look at.
Malibu II and Malibu XL from OK, you should be able to find them used.  What you loose in internal storage, you more than make up in deck space.
The Cobra Fish and dive-I'd only buy one in San Diego.
Fish a boat that fits you and you will be loving it a lot more.
