Additional Sponsors - Western Outdoor News, Terrafin Imaging, Guayaki Yerba Mate, Outback Adventures, Gerard's Paella
14 years after we held the very first kayak fishing tournament on October 3rd 1998 in San Diego, we're proud to offer a Northern California tourney that will bring out some of the best kayak anglers and dedicated amateurs from across the West. "The Fall Classic" is a family friendly event for the kayak fishing community with lots of camping and RV spaces onsite. The tournament rules are intended to reduce the number of fish retained for awards.
Prizes:
| 1st | Place RTM Abaco 4.20 Fishing Kayak |
| 2nd | Place RTM K Largo Fishing Kayak |
| 3rd | Place RTM Disco Angler Fishing Kayak |
| 4th | Place RTM KYO Inflatable |
Appreciating the demand on everyone's tournament budget, we wanted to get the word out early for this, the last West Coast kayak fishing tournament of the year. The Fall Classic will benefit Sportfishing Association of California (SAC) and KeepAmericaFishing.org, two of the principal lobbying efforts. Included in the registration fee is the Fall Classic T-Shirt and dinner Friday and Saturday. Friday night, world renowned paella chef "Gerard" will prepare the awesome "Seafood+" Paella for the whole tournament.
Following the Awards Ceremony Saturday night, we'll dish up a Trencherman's Feast with surf, turf, things that fly, a few camp chef contributions and whole lot more. Lots of veggie fare too! DO NOT purchase an extra meal ticket if you are feeding 2 people, dinner is served on a platter with a big sheet of foil for take-away. After dinner, we'll have a raffle with thousands of dollars-worth of very fishy prices. The raffle is for registered anglers only and will go around once so everyone wins. Sunday morning is the "Sunday Brunch Cook-Off". The price for the best dish is a vintage cast iron dutch oven or $100 bucks, winners choice.

Each group spot can accommodate 1 vehicle and 2-4 people. At least one groups site will be booked a "QUIET" upon request and a second site can be added with early demand if needed. Quiet Site spots are limited and available on a "first come" basis.

Explanation of Fees - Our biggest costs are for the prizes and dinners. All the top prizes are purchased from Entry Fees plus many of the raffle prizes too. Costs not limited to advertising and rentals plus donations all come from entry fees (and the raffle proceeds). Thanks for understanding.
Where To Stay - DIY Camping... Ocean Cove has 80 campsites beyond the group sites and is the best choice for camping and RVing. Ocean Cove fees are super reasonable and less than the State Campgrounds. Ocean Cove is a family campground too with a great vibe. Timber Cove and Fort Ross have many Inns and Bed and Breakfast spots.
What To Fish For - Lincod, cabezon and all the legal rockfish species plus halibut. Forcasts at this writiing suggest salmon may be in season too! If that is the case, a special prize category might pop up. Cowcod, canary and yelloweye rockfish are "no take". All edible finfish, not limited to monkey faced eels, flatfish and perches are contenders. Prizes will not be awarded for killing a mola mola or other inedible finfish. If a Pacific mackerel or horse sarding makes the difference, Spike will eat it with the winner.
